Hydrogen enquiries: questions for technical review
Seven hydrogen models are in ANYI's record. Hydrogen enquiries move fastest when the questions that need a technical answer are separated from the ones that do not.
ANYI's record holds seven hydrogen models, with recorded working pressures of 15MPa, 20MPa and 2175Psi and a recorded bore of Φ4mm across them. That is a small, fairly uniform group, which means the interesting questions in a hydrogen enquiry are usually not "which of these is biggest" but "what does my installation actually require, and which of those requirements can be confirmed from a record?"
Hydrogen work tends to involve a review step, whether that is an internal engineering sign-off or an external assessment. An enquiry written with that step in mind gets through it faster.
How to structure the enquiry
- Separate the fixed constraints from the preferencesCylinder thread, outlet designation and service pressure are constraints. Handwheel style and finish are preferences. Reviewers read faster when the two are not mixed together.
- State the service pressure, not just the cylinder ratingThe pressure your system sees and the pressure the cylinder is rated for are different numbers. Give both if you have them, labelled.
- Name the standard your review works toIf your assessment is against a particular standard or internal specification, name it in the enquiry. It tells a supplier which questions they must be able to answer in writing.
- Ask for material information on wetted partsAsk specifically, and ask per model. This is a question with a factual answer, and it is better obtained before a review than during one.
- Flag anything unusual earlyUnusual temperature, unusual duty cycle, an existing adaptor, a non-standard cylinder. These are the details that send a review back for a second round.
What a supplier can and cannot decide
There is one thing a supplier cannot do for you, and it is worth being explicit about it. Nobody can certify your installation from a model list. A supplier can tell you what the factory record holds for an exact model, what documentation exists and what its scope is. Whether that model is appropriate for your hydrogen service is a decision made on your side, with your conditions in front of you.
When a supplier answers a suitability question that they have no basis to answer, the reply is fast and worth nothing. A slower reply that says "here is the record, here is what is confirmed, here is what we would have to check" is the one you can put in front of a reviewer.
Common questions
Can you recommend a model for hydrogen?
We can tell you which models the factory record places under hydrogen service and what each row holds. The selection decision needs your service conditions and your review process, and stays with you.
Are the pressures on the page in bar?
They are published in the unit the factory recorded, which across the hydrogen rows is MPa or Psi. We do not convert, because a conversion introduces a rounding decision nobody has approved.
What if my required outlet is not one you list?
Send it anyway. An outlet that is not in the published rows is a question for the factory rather than an automatic no.
Include your service pressure, cylinder thread, outlet designation and the standard your review works to.
